Props to Ben and friends for such a great party!   Being anywhere else didnt' even cross my mind, and there was a bunch of jams going on this past Saturday...

Simple put, from Dazy to JT Donaldson, the music was exceptional!  The sound was clean, the lighting, props, and open space allowed for some cozy dancing regardless of where I was! The vibe was a FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH, and the people were oh so sweet!

The music?  EXCELLANT to say the least!  JT, JT, JT, and Dazy, Dazy, Dazy! Good people...thanks for the great selections.

Tropically Yours,

Chris

First of all,  WORD UP!  I wasn't in the mood to go out, but was so bothered that I wasn't in the mood, I went anyway.

The venue on Adams is one of my favorites because it's got a comfortable patio, cozy couches and spots to chill, cool artwork throughout, a clean bathroom, and just enough space to keep the people close, but NOT TOO CLOSE.   I haven't been there in a while, so it was a refreshing good choice.

Tropical has always turned me on because of the the producation quality.  I can't get enough of the decorations (pineapples lingering above, the tropical plants surrounding the decks and other various tropical motifs lurking around) which give to the theme and make it just damn fun!  The sound system was FLY, to say the least.  Also having the turntables in the immediate left corner of the dance area was a smart choice because it didn't keep anyones back to the entrance and made the the dance floor welcoming.   Other parties I've been to at the Adams location have had the decks in the back (closer to the street) so you enter the dance floor looking at a bunch of peoples backsides (I'd rather be greeted with faces). Oh, and thanks for the Kiwi, Bannanas, and Strawberries (I needed some nurishment when 5a rolled around).

On to the NICE PEOPLE...The L.A. house culture can be bit stuffy and nasty and a quite cliquesh sometimes (in my humble opinion), so I was pleased once again, to meet so many nice people.  I can't even remember the multiple conversations I had with so many of you, but I enjoyed connecting with everyone.

To make my short review longer...All of the Dj's rocked it just right.  I missed Mr. Annand and Mulhouse, but caught Dazy (who got me shaking like never before)!  I was so busy connecting with everyone, I only caught a bit of Lady D (but what a down-to-earth cool chicky she was, we got chatting outside for a bit, very nice girl!).  My favorite of the evening was J.T. Donaldson, he closed out the morning with mad CLASS,   I knew he was loving us by the look on his face (and we loved him too!).

I'm still grinning and send my thanks to the Tropical crew and all of the people who decided to be somewhere last night with me.

Regards,
Smoke
