i think saturday was my favorite tropical yet. everyone was
so happy and friendly, gee i wonder why..... we missed scott
findley and caught the last bit of mr annand's set. heather got
on and just took off running. that space has always had a comfy
air flow but this time around it was hot, not for lack of a/c or fans,
just so many bodies dancing hard. dazy's set was awesome as
usual, though i know she is always concerned about making her
hometown happy, she always has a great set. love the janet mix.
i was most impressed about how seamless the switchoff between
djs and their styles went. it was so smooth and really complimented
one another, yet each got to show off their own stuff. a very fun and
social party ben!

saturday night was heather at tropical...we had originally
planned to make it out to some other gigs that evening, but once we got to 56 it was clear
that we were staying. as mentioned before, the trasition from dj to dj was nice and
smooth...ben started out mellow, kinda spacey tracks and then brought it up at the end
with some real dancey stuff just building up to miss heather high and mighty. she
busted out so smooth and way less hard than she's been touted to be playing of late...she
is about as good as it gets in my opinion...seemingly effortless mixing, programming is
outstanding...she's definitely feelin' it, she's all over the mixer which is dramatic and
you can just tell she knows the beat back and forth. heard some new stuff that i am really
lovin' ('should i sing like this'/greenskeepers whoo!). had some drinks...and i dug the
whole backroom, drink ticket affair. danced til dawn...caught the first few records that
dazy was playin...and i was damn impressed...really really precise mixing...i would have
stayed but hunger prevailed and i wanted to beat the sun home.
rock on.

in my book=)
This party was definitely off the hook. I cannot remember the last time that I have been
to such a great party. Much thanks to Ben for being so detail-oriented!
Top highlights of the party:
-Nice people at the map point, including the the bomb ass ticket seller. I hate rude
people at map points.
-As someone said before, smooth transition between DJ sets... this really keeps the mood
going that the previous dj worked so hard to create.
-An approx. 400 capacity to ensure dancing space.
-Baskets hanging from the wall with spray bottles in them in case you get too hot from all
that booty shaking.
-No losers sprawled out across the dance floor.
-A bad ass Mark E Quark tape, PERFECT for listening to on the way home.
-The nicest, most house-intelligent people you could ever ask to party with.
-HEATHER... one of the sickest sets I've ever heard.
It was tough to choose between Tropical and Grow, but it's just kinda where we ended up
at. Thanks so much again, Ben, and everyone who was involved with this party.

Tropical was insane good. Heather rocked my kneecaps off. I was
sore for 2 days afterwards, and I go out dancing all the time. Dazy and Ben: you always do
it up. Once again, leave it to Mr. Annand to smack you upside the head with some funk,
friends, and freaky footwork.
Thank you Ben.
Much Love and Support-
