i figured if i died on the ride home, well, it would be fine because TROPICAL FUCKING ROCKED. i couldnt believe it. well, i could, but you know???? it was one of those old school magic kind of things, like the good old days. And a real "full circle" for me because Tropical were some of the first real 'house' parties i went to, and used to say "man, imagine playing at one of these!!!" and then: there we were. ahhhh, the crowd the crowd. I couldnt believe BOTH rooms were rocking. and making the transition from rocking house room to my first ever REAL downtempo set was quite a shocker, kind of like when you go from the jacuzzi into the freezing pool, totally delightful, but a shocker for sho. Thanks everyone for listening and dancing thanks BEN and everybody who helped, thanks everyone (you know who) for cheering me out of my 5AM drunk stupor, and THANK FUCKING TROPICAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ah, and thanks for that blood red sunrise through the wall of smoke and those blessed 8AM Santa Ana Winds, it was like driving home in a warm bath through armageddon paradise. Lets hope they get that shit out! sure makes for some bitchin sunrise/sets..... and sorry for swearing so much, its just of me. /rithma

tropical parties have gone through transitions but the soul of these gatherings stays the same..... did you see that new tropical-house banner wow.. it was amazing .. a labrinth for my eyes as my booty shaked .. thanks to the sister who painted that for us the music was perfect...although i spent most of my time in the downtempo area .. which i loved .. i dig these kind of beats and miss the days of the chill out rooms .. nice touch ben the peoples/dancers were such sweetie pies (except for the guy i had to ban from the water table hehe j/k) i was kinda busy all night and didn't get to say hello to all my homies that spun through but i heard many people comment how they love tropical parties not only because of the djs but the atmosphere and it made me smile i mean there are those lushes like me who would have prefered a bar! but .. it's a nice change to attend a party with that underground vibe LOL happy five year tropical !! so the 10 year tropical will be in yr ... do the math cuz i don't want too :P HIGH FIVES and love taps to the tropical djs, dancers and crew ! vibe boogie, TINA

man I had a blast. Thanks a lot for throwing such a good party. I wish I had gotten there earlier to see Dazy but I am kinda glad I dint cuz my knees were hurting enough from the time I did spend there. Have a great Halloween! kyle

THE PARTAY WAS OFF THE HOOK ! ! ! ! Ben, Ever since I moved out here to California (from Chicago), I have always been on the lookout for people with true musical passion. Ever since I saw you spin with so much of your soul and spirit at "Our House" (in Costa Mesa) a couple of years ago, I awed at how truly unique your musical grasp was. You have always made me feel fortunate and grateful when I am able to make it out to your sets. I can't always make it out to all of your parties. But I do appreciate, just how much you have devoted your life -- by contributing "SO MUCH" to the scene. My friends from back home will sometimes ask me, who to check out when they visit Los Angeles. I mention people, but I always tell them about somebody by the name of Mr. Annand. I attempt to describe your musical styles. Then, I just tell them to listen to some of the Tropical CD's you have kindly donated. Afterwards they'll ask, "So when's the next Tropical Party?"
